Here I go again! 😔

Well I finished the course of prednisolone and 24 hours later I'm start to flare again! Now I can't start to take the Leflunomide now either as I have a chest infection and should get antibiotics delivered today. Arms hurting again, fingers swelling again, ribs hurting again. I had 5 days where I had some relief. Don't think a this dampness with the rain is helping either. Beam me up Scottie!

Thanks Marion. I've really had enough now. 3 months not going anywhere, unable to do anything. Those 5 days reminded me what is was like to be without terrible pain. I want that feeling back. 😢

I think I know how you feel. Had a steroid injection and felt normal / fantastic for about 7 days then got covid and have been flaring for a month or so now. I got a low ebb on Sunday and my calls to rheumatology nurse haven’t been answered. I was too sore to go for my bloods Monday but will attempt Friday.

I ended up just taking a couple of nurofens and it’s helping. Not ideal but it’s helped. None of us can live in pain all day and night. Hope you pick up soon

I’m so sorry to hear how much pain you are in again now that your course of steroids has stopped. I hope that this awful chest infection clears up quickly for you and you can get to take your DMARD and you get some relief from the pain. It is so awful being in pain all the time. Gentle hugs xx

Hello HadIf this is your first relapse, I didn't see reasons in your profile or post for not going back on prednisone. Leflunomide is not a substitute for pred. It is normally an addition that takes several months to build effectiveness. It sounds like pred was working to control the inflammation and you simply came off too quickly. What has happened the past few weeks?

Hi adoptmeow. I fractured my T9 vertabrae in October, no idea how and I'm at high risk of osteoporosis so they say that steroid are not good for my bones. I had a steroid Jab at the end of August, the. Had a steroid Jab every day for a week in October. Then I was on a course of the pred for 2 weeks. So now they don't want to give me any more.
