The day pass out to visit my family was the best gift.I also got two lovely fever tree drinks glasses, which will make my non alcoholic drinks look very 'adult like'.

I got some lovely cheese, biscuits, chutneys and books.

My Australian friend sent me a beautiful professional photo of the great barrier reef.

When I got back to the hospital yesterday evening, the hospital gave me a gift too... a hydration set of body lotion and a reusable water bottle. Seemingly all in patients get a gift on Christmas day.

So all in all, taking everything into consideration, not a bad day.

glad you had a lovely day. We spent it with my son and family, my 17yr grandson gave me Sanctuary shower gels which this year he bought himself as he’s got a weekend job at Boots, youngest gave me a scented candle. I also got a beautiful Orchid and a bottle of Baileys and chocs. Hubby had bought me a beautiful emerald and diamond eternity ring and matching bracelet and a new cover for my iPad. All in all it was a great day spent with the family, tho they did try to leas me astray with a playing poker with a set they had for Christmas, needless to say I didn’t have a clue what I was doing 😂 Having a quiday on our own today as I’m still suffering from the shingles jab I had on 23rd December very achy and sore arm.

Here’s to a better New Year xxx

We too are having a quiet day as well. I have dismantled the table and hoovered up , well nearly hoovered up as Bob had to finish it for w=me when he got back from the allotment as my back was killing as was my left leg.xxxxx

Hi Sylvi. I had a quiet day. I got some nice presents- most of them edible, which suits me fine. Especially the Hotel Chocolat chocolates😋I've just gone gone for a walk while its sunny. Cold though so I've stopped for a latte.

Hope your leg doesn't give you too much pain today. Hugs 🤗

What lovely gifts you received lovely. So deserved too. I am sorry to hear how much pain you are still in.

I was thoroughly spoilt yesterday with gifts of a tassimo machine, a new watch, a bracelet, and a necklace. So nice t shirts, slippers, gloves, scarf, chocolates, M&S gift voucher, candles, body lotion, body shop white musk, Winnie the Pooh cups and money. I must have been on Santa’s nice list this year.

I am shattered today so resting under Tony’s orders. We had a lovely Christmas Day with Tony’s parents and Tony and his dad made us our Christmas lunch and desert. Lots of love to you. xx

Glad you're ok and I had a carton of homemade fudge, a new dress, wellington boots. I've just bought a new car so didn't ask for much! My husband got a day out up Battersea Power Station Chimney (he used to work there sometimes so a really good present) with his old work chums. About 10 are going ! wived are going shopping and eating. lol I also have got a lovely fishermans hat and gloves again home made and some alpaca socks. We had lunch at my son's in-laws there was 12 of us around their huge table and the parents contributed. I did cheese straws, mince pies, the cake and sausage rolls and joint of gammon. The other mother in law did the turkey, beef and pudding. The kids did the veg preparation and it worked out really well. So I'm tired today and its a sofa day until friends come around tonight to play cards and drink wine.

We had a lovely day, with having a puppy we were at home. Lovely roast, fillet of beef & all the trimmings… except I asked where the pigs in blankets were that h lovingly prepped, still in the fridge! We're having them tonight with left over beef. Had some lovely pressies, my main one I'd chosen so not a surprise… a navy handbag to match my latest wedge trainers. I had lots of chocs & 3 pairs of my favourite Seasalt long socks & other bits including a very handy pickle spoon as I always struggle getting onions out of jars. I was also treated to a gold bracelet which was a beautiful surprise.

While I'm here, does anyone have any ideas on how to thank a husband who buys a puppy a Wobble Wag Giggle Ball?! If you know you know. 🥺😫

I am glad you had a lovely Christmas. I did too and got some very beautiful gifts incl: crafting stuff, books, jigsaws, scarves, kitchen gadgets, vouchers, pjs, a jacket, a bee house and some lovely homemade gifts from my son's girlfriend.

I also had some lovely gifts, a new watch because I lost my other one, books, warm pjs, a bottle of brandy, and another kitchen aid gadget which completes my collection, makes everything much easier for me in the kitchen. I was very lucky this year. Didn’t get chocolates but I’m sure hubby will let me help him eat his supply. Best wishes xx

Late to the party again. We had quiet time but the food was excellent thanks to Himself. I was spoilt rotten being given everything on my list so it's hard to say what's favourite. I do love this though. I always loved paperweights so this little fella was a surprise extra

Love your octopus Jan. Do you have any of the John Ditchfield (Glasform) paperweights?

Not as yet. I have only just started collecting them. I only have four so will be googling John Ditchfield (Glasform) pdq. Thank you for the heads up 😀

Oh dear. I think I have found a new passion. John Ditchfield's work is sublime. Those iridescent and dichroic finishes are amazing. Ps I do love octopuses 'cos they're so intelligent and weird. Cuttlefish too for their colour changes. My favourite day out is 'The Deep' in Hull

He used to be more local to us, he's now a little further inland. My h is a fan of old iridescent glass so for his 40th I went to his glassworks & asked him to design & make a Persian Tear Catcher (John named it a Jack-in-the-Pulpit vase). He was so taken with the design (although it took 6 attempts to get it right, the ones not chosen he smashed in front of me) he asked if he could include it in his studio collection. I agreed with the proviso none were as tall as my h's.

Oh wow! What an amazing present and from an absolute master of his craft too. I'm not jealous at all

nomoreheels in reply to Gnarli

I shouldn’t be really but I’m proud to say that Elton John has the design within his Ditchfield collection.

You should be proud. His work is glorious. I shall be blaming you for introducing his work to me though. My new paperweight, iridescent pink by John Ditchfield, arrives on Friday.

Oh dear Jan, I must take full responsibility. However, they are beautiful, because of the process no one the same. I'm sure you won't be disappointed to own such a beautiful piece of art glass.
