And if so how was it treated and how long to get better?
I’ve been diagnosed with RA for 2 years nowbut this is my first post here. Just had 6th episode of iritis which was immediately followed by eye pain from SLK.
Tired of my eyes hurting and putting in eye drops every 30 minutes
Thanks
(And thanks to all the informative posters over the past year or two)
I don’t know much about superior limbic keratoconjunctivitis but my son has been diagnosed with vernal keratoconjunctivitis. He has had several courses of steroid eye drops after bad flares and we have found the only way to keep the flare ups from happening appears to be a combination of Lodoxamide and Cyclosporine eye drops being used daily. I have no idea if these treatments would be suitable for SLK also though I’m afraid. Hope things improve for you.
Thank you. Apparently I’ve become a steroid responder and my eye pressures increase during treatment so we’re avoiding steroids. SLK usually goes away on its own eventually just unpleasant in the meantime.
I wish you all the best with your son’s treatment!
I'm sorry to hear you are having problems with this.
I've had to look it up (rarediseases.info.nih.gov) and it does seem to be classified as a rare disease. It seems to be associated either with thyroid disease or contact lens wearing. I couldn't see any links to Rheumatoid Disease. Would it be worth looking at other areas of Health Unlocked to find out others with the condition?
