Hi all. I had an arthroscopy on my left shoulder 4 weeks ago. I’m beginning to wish I hadn’t. My Rheumotoid has flared up and have been in constant pain from my shoulders to the soles of my feet. The simplest tasks cause me great pain.
I inject Methotrexate weekly and Cosentyx monthly. Having the surgery meant I could not inject either for over 3 weeks.
I hope that once the injections kick in I will start to feel human again. Anybody else experienced this after surgery. 😔

Yeah I had an arthroscopy a few years ago and I wished I hadn’t afterwards also but the good news is if you keep up with the physio and start meds ASAP it does get better reasonably quickly. I know it’s not much help to you at the moment because you’re in such pain but I promise you won’t regret the shoulder surgery soon because I haven’t had any issues with my shoulders for about 6-8 years since. My left shoulder was in a very bad way at the time and it even fractured my collarbone because of the stress of trying to move it. I’m afraid only time will heal but hopefully you’ll look back on it soon and feel human again. 🤗🤞
Hi 70schick, this looks like your first post. Sorry I cannot relate since I have not had this yet.
Great response given already though!
How long have you had RA? Just wondering as my left shoulder was excruciating from before diagnosis, affects my collar bone and breast bone as well as my shoulder blade, then my elbow etc join in. Steroid tablets help for now, till Rituximab infusions might kick in.
