I hate my Keratosis Pilaris

I've had Keratosis Pilaris since Primary School. As I've got older it's spread and moved up my tummy and is now just under my breasts. So the whole of my legs, arms, bum cheeks and tummy are covered. I'm 54 and devastated.

KP is most often triggered by dietary sensitivities, dairy and gluten are known drivers of the condition. But, other sensitivities could play a part, as well. Have you tried going dairy and gluten free?

Alpha/beta hydroxy acid body washes can be helpful with exfoliation. Also, Amlactin (specifically developed for KP) or another brand of lactic acid lotion will help with sloughing off the affected areas, improving skin appearance. Lactic acid holds moisture in the skin. It is the least drying of the acids. Next would be glycolic, then beta (salicylic) as the most drying. But, they each have unique properties, so a mix of them in a body wash can be more effective, yet not be as drying. Then using the lactic acid lotion alone (or mixed with another favorite lotion if you should notice dryness) as the last step.

KP needs to be addressed both internally and externally. If the inflammation (food triggers) aren't removed, then the external efforts won't provide much noticeable or lasting improvement.

It's trial and error. Start by removing gluten/dairy for at least 6-8 weeks (first one and then the other) and see what happens.

Here is some info on specific nutrional needs to combat KP:

Hope you find relief soon.

Best wishes.😊

I’m sorry for your distress

How To Naturally Treat Keratosis Pilaris With Coconut Oil

First, you'll need to exfoliate your skin in order to remove any dead cells. ...

Then, after taking a shower, pour a little amount of oil onto your palms and rub it before applying it on to the skin.

Next, gently massage the oil onto the affected area for a minute.

If anyone had any success ever with coconut it likely bacterial, add a couple of drops of tea tree organic essential oil and see if that fixes?
