Hi Faxred i had a course of Doxycyceline and it did clear my skin. at first it just took the pain away and then it began to clear . To help with my appearence i cleanse with Bioderma micellear water and use AR Bioderma BB Cream as a tinted moisturiser and makeup there is also a non tinted version Bioderma . it lasts for ages and is comfortable to wear. theres a cream called Dermalex which you could try apparently sometimes it is a mite that can cause the redness it lives on all skins but some of us are more sensitive to it . These creams have been recommended by my Dermatologist and I love her for it. there are prescription creams but they are too harsh for my skin but work for some people you can buy bioderma in pharmacy or may be cheaper on line. good luck clearing it up wouldn't wish it on anyone ..

Hi Fazred

I too was prescribed a course of Doxycycline for the same condition and although if took some months to clear up it was eventually successful. I did in fact take it for longer than the initial four months as my prescription was not reviewed on time by the doctor but this was not a problem and I was told that some people have taken it for up to twelve months I would therefore say if it appears to be working but the condition has NOT cleared completely - consider asking the dermatologist to extend it. Can not recommend any other creams etc as this condition appeared at about the same time as a bout of psoriasis (which of course is much more difficult to shift) so the additional creams/dovobet etc which I have used were probably more related to the psoriasis.

Anyway good luck with it, keep taking the Doxycline - it will work.

great feedback with type 2 rosacea serum from finca skin organics....its on the irish website rosacea.ie it tackles the demodex mite as well.

I went to sk:n clinic and had some treatments there almost sure they support NHS. After treatment used reduced redness cream not cheap £29 and buy at the reception last ages. I went down this route as mine was very red irritated and I was fed up of trying GP standard stuff . four years of hardly any red or pustules I’m still happy with what I had done, but it’s not cheap and the treatment is a little painful, but it meant no prescription creams at all and learning to look after the skin with a daily routine and finally seeing my cheekbones again as no puffiness anymore, for me I didn’t want creams or antibiotics etc and wanted to stop looking for cover up make up
