Hi I'm 40 and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I am dubious about it being this as family history or rheumatoid arthritis also i have lumps forming at joints on fingers etc. My pain is deep not touch. I had scan apparently says nothing out normal . Rf test normal (why rheumatologist saying fibromyalgia)

Inflammation high low vitamin D and one my blood counts also bloody sticky unlike used to be.

Wanted to ask is this normal for fibromyalgia also what exactly is fibromyalgia what should i expect?

As been told nothing rheumatologist can do and just see pain clinic

Hi there, as far as im aware fibromyalgia doesn't cause inflammation, i had years of blood tests and they always came back normal. No inflammation at all.

Its chronic widespread pain, they only diagnose it by ruling everything else out.

Sorry I can't help you as I have similar questions myself! I have been diagnosed with both RA and Fibromyalgia, but I am also dubious about the Fibro. I came here to understand if the "other" pain I have that my Rheumatologist says is definitely not RA caused, is actually consistent with Fibromyalgia - which she insists it is. I feel the way I was diagnosed was almost like "well, we don't really understand that pain, but we have a name for pain we don't really understand the cause of and we call it Fibromylagia. Yes it is real but you can't do anything about it except rest and manage your energy, maybe take a pain killer. Now go away and don't ask any more questions..." (Not literally, but that was the gist of it.) I do believe you can still have RA with a negative blood test. In my case the the final unequivocal diagnosis came after x-rays showed bone erosions, which I hope you don't have as that means the disease is quite advanced. I did not show typical swelling and struggled for anyone to take my pain and tiredness seriously for years - apparently I wasn't in "enough" pain - even though my bones were slowly eroding! Hence also my desire to pursue underlying conditions that my "Fibro" may actually be. Just FYI - I also have low blood pressure and low Vit D. Hope you get a satisfactory answer soon. It's hard work, I know. Good luck! x
