Stem cell transplant (SCT) 15 months on

I'm now 15 months after my SCT and in my my recent review my figures are improving:WBC 4.0 HB 139 Neut 2.3, lymph1.12 and platelets 106 ( highest for a couple of years). I also had my CD4 lymphocytes measured and can now come off Acyclovir and pentamidine. Hooray! I hated those nebulisers. This leaves me only on my previous medication plus azithromycin. This is a prophylactic treatment I'll be on for life because I had my enlarged spleen radio zapped before my sct.

I feel back to normal though obviously older than pre MF. I do get itchy when I sweat but nobody else seems concerned

That's great news. Did you have a good donor match? The best they have for me is a 9/10 unrelated donor. I'm only 43 😒

It all sounds positive. I remember well the thought of feeling back to 'normal', but just a bit older. Long may it continue.

How wonderful to hear such positive news. You must be delighted to be that bit closer to 'normal'. Here's hoping the next 15 months will be even better than the last 15. Thanks so much for sharing your news. Sending hugs from NYC.
