“JAK2V617F variant allele frequency might be a useful clinical tool in selecting patients with MPNs with increased risk of atherosclerotic disease, and if these patients get prophylactic treatment earlier, their risk of cardiovascular disease caused by atherosclerotic plaques might decrease,” the authors wrote.

Thanks Manouche, it all makes perfect sense.

I tried to ‘like’ this numerous times, but for some reason it’s always a battle, now it says -1?? Wonder if others find similar issues.

Appears to be another bit of evidence supporting the importance of VAF in MPNs. Thanks for posting it.

Hi, I had a tear in my femoral artery age 49, prior to ET Jak2 diagnosis. The consultant said it was extremely rare to have this happen at that age, it was due to build up even though my cholesteral is fine. could it be due to the ET then, is what I'm thinking? When I was finally diagnosed with ET in 2020, haematologist said I'd had ET at least 10 years having looked at my records.
