I'm on Ajovy for about 1 year 2 months it has helps some. You will still get them but not as much.. Takes awhile to kick in and start working. I have to take medication to help with my migraines with the shot..

Thanks for reply. How long would you say it takes to work? Also did you get any side effects? I’ve got a terrible sore tight neck

I've been on the 3 new injections for about six months and I believe I'm just noticing a slight improvement. Started on Ajovy but only had the one injection because of the giant needle. Then started on Aimovig and used that 3 or 4 months, was still having migraines and got constipated which is pretty common. Had Emgality the last time but it was two shots and they hurt like a "b" and also my insurance wouldn't approve that one. Anyway, going back to Ajovy in March 2020 because Ajovy is now being offered in the autoinjector where before it was not. Still having migraines but the pain has lessened a bit. I still have hope.

I was on the clinical trial for Ajovy and remained on it until I decided to come off it a month ago. It worked like magic for me. I had chronic migraine for years with intense 3-4 day migraines. I thought I was ‘lucky’ if I had a few days migraine-free a month. Life was hardly worth living and I don’t say that lightly. With Ajovy, my migraines stopped. I must have had about 3 mild migraines during the 18 months I was on it. I had three injections in the belly fat every three months which I learnt to do myself - no big deal. I had no side effects. I did have a stiff neck sometimes in the early months but put this down to an arrested migraine attack. I realise I was a super-responder but I’d advise you to give it a chance - it’s a game-changer if it works for you.
