Am I over working myself?

I am in a dual enrollment program where I take college courses in the mornings and do normal high school in the afternoon. The college courses are a lot harder than what I am used to so I am working harder, trying to keep up with the lecture. I come home everyday, shower, disinfect my electronics, set up my area, and get a snack. I give myself about an hour break total from the time I get home to the time I get ready for bed (I like to work for 30 minutes and then take a break for 10.) I work like that until about 8:00 - 8:30. I have been so stressed recently when I work that almost every night this week, I’ve bawled my eyes out, snapped at my family, and refused every invite to hang out with my friends. They are apparently saying that I am too consumed by this program. I don't think I am working hard enough. You always hear about college students never getting any sleep and pulling all-nighters and since I stop working at 8:00 I think I am stopping too early. Am I really overdoing it? I really don't know if what I’m doing is enough.

You have the tools in your own hands. You are working on two different levels each day. I wa the same when I was working or earlier at college I was trained as an Engineer, and was either on an engineering course qualifications and also training in Youth Work Examinations on top of it all. I was also training in new work transferes where the training was hard work, All Electronic Engineering are different learning experiences and I just could not keep up.

The main problems I had was we were entering into the EEC and they kept changing the mesurement units from English, European and Scientific units.

On top of that the course for my Community Work was a completely different

subject. In the end I was in real problems, although I came to the conclusion that the need to give myself time to enjoy myself with my friends was just as important.

I would advice you try and make room for one night out a week and relax one day. I used to TRY and take Sunday off although that became problematic as I was having to do work experience several times a week. You need to have time for yourself because you need a period of relaxation to freshen yourself for the week ahead.

Consider your friends at least one night a week or you will become stale and you will feel unable to push yourself foreward.

Your question I believe you have answered by how stressed you are .I am a bid fan of exercise as it creates endorphins.Even. If it's only for short time,I hope and believe you will find a balanced and happy way forward.G B
