My husband was suffering with depression, we had some bad times and after something that he did, I threw him out! He started on sertraline 50mg, after about 6 months he was taking 100mg. We have stayed friends and are still trying to get things back on track. It’s hard work! He has constant headaches, goes to sleep at 8 every night, and is still tired when he wakes. He has no interest in anything, low self esteem , low confidence. We aren’t living together at the minute and as he is, I don’t see us ever doing. I’m trying to help him but he just has no emotion! He worries about everything but talks about nothing! When we go out, he yawns all night or he has an headache, he’s put lots of weight on! Any advice please, this is worrying me to the point, I’m losing loads of weight. We have 2 school aged children and he does love them and they keep him going but I’m afraid they are the only thing that does!!!

My husband is on sertraline and it’s making our lives a misery!
Go back to the GP and be firm. Tell them you don’t feel the medication is suiting your husband and that it is affecting quality of life.
My husband took Sertaline for a while and it made him worse. Anxiety, restlessness, lack of emotion. He is still a long way off being being better now.
My experience is that I had to go to the GP with my husband. The GP can only work on what they are being told and my husband was unable to communicate how bad he felt. It has taken me to take control to get the right help.
I would also recommend seeking out dime therapy for your husband. Especially if you know where the mood change has stemmed from.
Could you both visit the Doctor to discuss how your Husband is getting on. Sometimes the conditions you explained above can be caused by Depression and your Doctor may need to arrange a pathway of treatment for him. Were there any reasons for the attitude of your husband before He became ill ?
Weight concerns may be caused by the medications especially if He is not eating properly. That may need to be addressed. I know in my case I have real problems with my weight, I also have diabetes although I just had results of my blood tests etc and I am well below the readings expected, Your Doctor can also arrange a diet and possibly an appointment when possible.
If you now the reason why this has happened you may be able to help Him come to terms with any problems He may have. Possibly Talking Therapy may help

I took sertraline 50 mg a day but I had to stop after 1 week of taking it. It gave me migraine, nausea and general tiredness all day. As soon as I stopped all the side effects went away.
