6 days on mirtazaphine

Tried mirtazaphine after 6 days bad reaction do you still need to taper off or just stop

Possibly it will be worse to try and slowly come of the drug, you have not really been on this medication long enough for any real side affects.

You have failed to allow the drug time to begin too work, it takes upwards five weeks before you may feel the benefit

Have you asked the Doctor to come of medication or is it just a gut reaction and you are over sensitized to taking medications like these. Even if you were to ask your GP for a new medication to replace this one you will be on a hiding for nothing

He wanted me to go back on mirt instead of sleeping pills but cannot get on with them makes noises in head worse and week legs etc best of them but I need something to sleep with generator noises in head

Listen to your Doctors advice and act upon it. He knows you and those health concerns you have. Be brave and catch up with your new medications

I once took Prozac for 10 days and it was so bad that I just stopped cold turkey. I had a lot of anxiety. It really depends on how high the dose is, but you will probably be fine, but you probably will have some minimal anxiety and some insomnia. Definitely call doctor to make sure. If you cold turkey medicine, then make sure you take magnesium supplement to help you with sleep and in addition vitamin B12.

I’m on same drug I’m on 30 mg which I take at night I took it at 9.30 last night had 3 hours in the nite where I couldn’t sleep and I’ve only just got up . I was lucky and didn’t suffer any side effects apart from I can’t wake up at a decent time I’ve got an appointment booked to see if I can reduce my dose x good luck try stay on it for about 8 -12 to give it a proper chance if you can manage to xx

I just break them in half. Actually I started oversleeping more with a brand change, (different generic every time i visit the pharmacist) so I'm now cutting tablets up into 3 for an approx 10mg dose.
