I started a job earlier this year, loved it so much to the point I can't wait to get up to go to work, then have a massive row with ex(kids) mam and told the only way I'll see or hear about my kids will be when something is wrong, I can't even spend Xmas with them, I'm soooo low I'd rather be dead than that happen, the thoughts thru my head now would scare a horror movie writer, thing is it feels good, I'm soo low, so lost so confused and so finished

Hello phil, I have to ask , are you under a Doctors care ? If not you might want to see someone about your feelings and if you are already being seen call and request a reevaluation. You can't be finished when you have kids and as your ex sounds rather punitive they will probably need you in the future. Don't you have a custody plan for your kids? Generally one parent can't dictate to the other. Is going to court an option ? Try to keep focused on the positive in your life and take care of yourself. You want to be well when your kids are with you. I hope you find this helpful. Pam

Hi Phil, Sweetipye has given some good advice. It would be really helpful to have a chat with your doctor and/or community mental health team, for a medication or therapy review, as it sounds like you need a bit of extra support at the moment. It's brilliant that you are enjoying your new job! Hold onto the positive things and try not to let the negatives to dominate. You have kids who need you, even if from a distance at the moment. It may help to think about having some psychological therapy such as CBT and/or mindfulness, as these can help address the negative though patterns that trap and trip us up when we least expect it.

Don't forget to keep the crisis support lines information handy, in the UK Samaritans 116 123 (24hrs) and look at mind.org.uk/

Keep in touch. Folks here are very supportive and willing to come alongside.
