It sounds as if you are under stress, this can cause all of the symptoms you describe. Maybe speak to doctor and get checked out. There could be other reasons for you not feeling right.

Looking after young children is incredibly difficult. You spend all your energy and time looking after them and not looking after yourself. When was the last time you had a day off? Being mum is a job 24/7. Any family or friends you can talk to? Or get some childcare from. Sometimes we get physically and emotionally exhausted from 24hr caring. This isn't a reflection on your abilities it's the simple fact no one can work 24/7 365 days a year. And being a full time mum is toughest job - don't let anyone tell you different!

Make doctors appmt, try and talk to someone. If you can't get a break from kids - maybe a change of scene. Getting to a park or the beach with a picnic and let the kids run wild. Saved my life and sanity. The sea is really calming. I hope that is possible for you.

And a picnic can be a packet of crisps and a juice box - nothing special!

That's ok honey - it's just a suggestion. More important is making GPs appmt. Some days I can't face going out, so I understand it. Even more so after corralling kids - any trip out is exhausting even before you get to front door! Are you eating some fruit and veg? It's easy just to snack - I fed on kids leftovers for about 8 years!

Ohhh same as me u no when I start eating I can't control myself I feel so relaxed while eating . And I get a lot of body fat because of this

That's extra padding for the Knocks life gives you. Eating feels good because to eat body must be relaxed, over time if stressed out all the time, body gets confused and thinks food automatically means relaxed (even if your not). Don't worry about that beyond thinking am I giving myself the right nutrients in food. So eat, enjoy it, try to make it healthy. Again, what we eat can improve mood and energy but only if not completely stressed.

And remember that voice in your head isn't telling the truth to you. It's all fears, worries and insults. I bet you wouldn't speak to anyone like that. Just a huge big sign your brain is giving you that something isn't right because of the stress. Don't push yourself. Do as much as you can and believe me that's still ok. Be kind to yourself.

I sometimes have cake for breakfast so I get it. I'm avoiding ice cream as the tubs don't last 30mins. I do try and eat fruit and nuts most days. I'm also trying to eat more fish, salmon tuna sardines - as good source of brain food.

I'm in UK - I live in Orkney - very north of Scotland. Lived in other places in Scotland throughout my life so met a good mix of people. Would prefer to be in London though!

I used to work full time. I'm 43, got pregnant at 30, so single mum since then more or less. I had to stop working two years ago with combination of my depression and daughter refusing to go to school. She was later diagnosed as autistic which explains a lot. So housewife - in name only - given how little I look after my house it will want a divorce soon! But I get how difficult it is with kids. Getting to work was a relief for me!

I'm here if u need to talk. Some decisions are easy some hard. Worst case is when you can't work out what's the right thing to do. I always think if I can't decide clearly do nothing. Sometimes, you delay and other events happen to take decision for you.

Hi,

firstly I wanted to say it's great you have reached out. It's also amazing that you have said you don't want to give up, the reason that's brilliant is because it shows determination. And determination is what gets people through depression. So trust me, you will get better.

Can I ask do you have childcare available for your children? If so what do you do when their at nursery?

Do you have any support? I haven't been on this site for long but everyone is going through different stages of depression and everyone truely cares, so we will be here for you.

Act now, as the nasty symptoms of depression sound like they are appearing. Do you or have you ever taken anti depressants? I find for me, I don't do well without them but I respect people have different views. Once they start to work, counciling can be beneficial. It's important to get your mood lifted to have the best outcome. CBT would be good for you, I believe.

I can relate so much to worries of the future but I can tell you all the worrying you do won't change the outcome, easier said than done. Have you made a list of things you are concerned about? Maybe you could and logically think if anyone or professional body can help you resolve the situations, I.e debts - citizen advice etc..

Your happiness is the most important thing, you are the most important person in your life. So please take time to do things that make you happy. Do you paint, sew, love music, bake, even self pampering makes the world of difference. Yoga really helps me.

As for getting angry and irratable, your not going mad. This is all very common and when you have worries and concerns and they feel out of your control, this can be what happens. So taking back some control is important. You don't have to do that alone.

Please don't beat yourself up for over eating, this could be a way of self punishing, we are our own worse enemies when we are low. Focus on healing your mind and the rest should follow..

Thanks for sharing your story. I hope you are okay xx
