Hi Donna, that's yet another diagnosis I had to look up! Sounds like a script from the big bang series where the drug companies make up a term so they can sell a drug! But I truly don't want to belittle what you are suffering, even if its what I term as life and I really am a big fan of the manic robot in Douglas Adams hitchhiker guide to the galaxy.

Personally I find if you have a propensity to depression, during a lifetime circumstances can make it take many shapes and forms. In a way it can be very much like reading your star signs, you can probably find something in everyone of them that refers to yourself, its just if you focus on your own you can think it's uncanny that it fits so well and therefore must be true.

But whatever label we like to identify with, its usually very similar actions and therapies that can help, the main ones being mindfulness, purposeful planning, CBT, and in my mind diet is one of the hardest and top of my list.

Sometimes it's much more important to focus on how your coping with what can be a very stressful existence all be it in a very beautiful world, than on what just doesn't fit into what someone else says is or is not normal behaviour in a lot of cases we can decide that and slowly try to change our own behaviour, for which of course its better to have guidance and support from as many places as possible, if one doesn't work try another.

There are lots of drugs for bi-polar but that's often treating the symptoms not the cause, so talk to as many people as you can to be better able to make informed choices.

I hope with all my heart you find the right path for yourself to feel more on an even keel. Lots of hugs xx

Thanks so much for your reply, you don't know how much that means to me. It's so refreshing to know I'm not alone. I have a brilliant family and friends network however they aren't in my head and get to walk away, so to speak. I'm in my head 24/7 and it's such a struggle.

Yeah I agree with you about the script from the Big Bang serious.

I have an appointment next Tuesday in regards to changing my medication so here's hoping it will help as recently things have got worst. I sadly tried to take my own life on Boxing Day but was obviously saved by my husband. I just don't want things to ever get that bad again. I've tried a lot of therapy and feel that my only option now is to try different medication.

Anyhow thanks again for the reply. You take care x

Hi Donna, I hope new meds will take the edge off this downward spiral so that you can be a little stronger to try lots of other things along side them.

Having support outside close family and friends can be so important. I remember many moons ago how supportive my husband and young family were, but in didn't stop me from trying to take my own life and feeling it was the only solution, I was just pretty hopeless at it.

Its a horrible feeling when you can't see a solution, but there really are so many things yet to try that can help bring you back to where you want to be and each time you learn what works for you it helps the next time something sets it off.

Just keep telling yourself that you are not going to give up, and what you might learn on your journey maybe what someone else needs to hear to help with theirs.

Lots of hugs, Moni x

Yeah I hope too as I'm kinda at my wits end!

I agree, as I love the support I get but they don't understand although they do try. As was I, but I guess that's a good thing we were hopeless at it.

Sometimes when I feel the cloud coming I can handle it and take steps to control it, however other times I can't see any solution so I cut myself.

Indeed and just with your 2 replies has actually helped be beyond belief.

Thank Moni, I really do appreciate it x

How do you manage? My moods are all over the place if I don't any meds. I've tried to go med free but it made me so much worst. Coming off the conception pill helped me loads but I do need some sort of mood disorder tablets, although the side effects aren't good but it's better than being moody all the time. I was diagnosed in 2011.

I have found eliminating all negative people / situations from my life helps enormously and not listening to Mr Anxious who often used to pop in .. Finding a hobby also is an aid .. When you are living in your own true authentic life style it is then when you will feel much better as the moods will dissipate.
