Wow this is amazing; wish it was bigger so I could see properly; but what a shame; I only realised recently that people like ballerinas as you were or footballers actually suffer in later life because the way their bodies are pushed is not good for them. I had always thought the opposite that they would be fitter in later life, so it came as a shock to me.

It looks like a beautiful picture. Thank you for sharing .

HI Gemma nice to see you and hope you are ok. Dens said she fell through a trapdoor on stage which brought her career to a close. Apparently people who push their bodies the most like dancers and atheletes often suffer joint problems in later life. Both my parents were very fit and active and one of my sisters and they all suffered joint problems etc. I am very lazy and have never been fit and have no problems now apart from a dodgy back caused by an accident many years ago.

I always said being too active is bad for you! :O Bev x

Ha, ha, well you have now. I was good and danced with the Royal Ballet, London Festival and both the Russian companies Bolshoi & Kirov also guest artist to other companies but the trapdoor put paid to that. By the way this photos was taken just 6 months after having my 1st baby.

I think I said to Bob that husbands of ballerinas could quite rightly take us to the 'Trading Standards Description Dept' as we go from that (the picture) to muscle and joint malfunction and terrible pain. It's a cruel profession but once bitten by the passion it becomes ones life.

I felt bereft when my career was stolen from me but ho, hum, live goes on and we make the best of it. Then I was robbed once too often with the car crash, that I I still feel very hurt as 'we' lost everything, house, my daughter - I wasn't there when she needed me at 14 and she hated me for a time, now we are so close as I made her talk to me about her hurt etc.

So seeing old photo's of me is bittersweet as I am proud of what I achieved and saddened by the loss.

Happy Day it's Easter and was hubbies birthday yesterday so we'll all raise a glass to us, the achievers the survivors and this our family xxxxx Dens xxx

Stunning. You look like the black swan in the photo.??

I watched the Moscow City Ballet last week, just love watching ballets more than anything.

Would love to see some more pics

Yes it was the Black Swan, a bugger of a role as in the old days we dance both White and Black Swan's and had an automatic 3 days off to recover. I knew at one point the roles were separated because of the demands of the role, whether that is still the case I don't know.

As for pic's. my mum saved the them and my charming sister decided to through them out. I have a few but I rely on friends and they email them to me. Do you know my darling mum kept every programme when I appeared at the Royal Opera House but they too fell foul of the elements and got wet and stuck together. My son has spent hours to part them to no avail, maybe it's to be xxxxx Dens
