Swollen bump near the circumcision scar

Hi everyone,

I’m almost at my 2 month recovery from circumcision. I would say that overall everything is going well, but I have one concern and want to hear your thoughts/recommendations.

After one month I had a doctor visit, the scar was almost gone, swelling was very small. I had some stitches still in place on the left side of penis and doctor said that he needs to remove them. With quick simple steps he cut the stitches and pulled them out, everything was fine.

The next 1 week I walked a lot and the part where he removed stitches became swollen bump. The bump is under the scar line and is not allowing my head to close with foreskin (I had partial circumcision and part of the head was covered). It is not hurting and I don’t have any uncomfortable feeling, I’m just confused why it is not gone after about 3 weeks.

Also, the rest of the scar like is a bit itchy and is red, I’m not sure if this is also OK or not.

Anyone had similar experience?

Any recommendations on how to make swelling bump go down faster?

PS. One good thing of not covering the head is that I overcome super sensitivity issue almost completely.

Thanks

Heya, glad to hear that things are improving. I have a bump under the scar line on the left-hand side of my fella. I believe it's a cauterised vein end that occasionally swells up and get be a bit sore after masturbating or any significant stretching - I've been told this is normal with vein ends that get cauterised during the operation, and it's the blood/lymph fluid learning to redirect away from a vein that no longer runs the full length. I've been told that as the months pass it will resolve. Other little bumps I've been told are most likely dissolvable stitches where the material has already done its job but is just there dissolving in the tissue and over time they too will resolve.

Thanks for the reply my friend. It seems we had our operation around same time and going through the same stages.

During this time I learned two important things: listen to your body and believe in time.

the swelling that I mentioned, is at the bottom left side under my head. It is not hurting or causing any “problems” and I figured out that this means that it is probably normal. I was confused because it was not there for the first 4 weeks then it popped out, maybe because I started to use my tool more freely.

I don’t have any remaining stitches, as doctor manually removed remaining 4 stitches during my check up visit on 4th week. I think this triggered swelling, but I’m not sure.

Anyway, I now believe in time and wait for things to improve.
