Peeing is difficult after circumcision

Hello,

I’m on day 8 of my circumcision. Everything is going well, I’m seeing a lot of improvements last few days. I had a doctor check up visit on day 6 and he told me to not put dressing anymore, only during the night. After the dressing is removed my head is very dry and at the tip of pee hole it is forming some kind of “crust”, which is making hard to pee. Initial burst of pee is even painful as the urine is forcing its way out of that “crust”. After initial burst, the stream is narrow and very fast.

As a workaround I’m doing following: before peeing I put a tiny touch of water on the tip and try to open the hole with my hands. Then I sit down and pee normally (still the stream is narrow and fast).

I’ve read online about “meatal stenosis” and now I’m stressing out.

Anyone had similar experience?

Will it go away ?

I don’t know if my head is swollen or not, I’ve never seen it because of phimosis.

The healing process for a circumcision can vary greatly. Generally you would follow the post-op instructions of your surgeon. A number of guys also use salt water bathing of the penis. If you are worried about your healing or changes, you need to see a doctor or the original surgeon.

Heya... I'm now 25 days into the healing cycle and for the first 10 days or so, urinating was uncomfortable and felt restricted. Your penis was manhandled during the operation and the swelling will also be taking its toll. I was worried I had the same thing, but now I pee relatively normally (just adjusting to my new flow). I'd say if you are really worried then to go back and see your doctor, but I feel like I went through the same feelings and worries. :)

Thanks for your feedback. I’m now on day 10 and it seems to be improving. My second appointment with doctor is in 2 weeks, I will wait for that and ask him about my worries.

Thanks again for sharing your experience, it is so good to see that other people are also having the same experiences and I’m not alone.

How's everything going now, mate? I'm over 4 weeks healed now and things are much better - peeing standing up again is a revelation, as is being able to sleep under a duvet. :)

much better now. Didn’t had any difficulties for the past few days. Stitches are falling off (almost 50% are gone).

On the right side it is healing slower and there is a bright red color, but I see progress every day.

Erections are not painful, but very uncomfortable, like choking(hopefully the skin will become loose and stretchy as it heals)

Dude, my right side is the most swelled... and I get that choking feeling too on the scar line. So weird! Glad you're seeing progress. It is a relief when the comfort levels begin to rise.

Hi, everything has happened to me and made me stressed lots. It is okay though, I recommend trying to bath! It works to get the dry stuff off your tip. Use polyspoirn on your tip and glans and use baby oil or (better) bio oil. Daily shower and trying to dry the urthera gets the precum off which makes crusting less likely. For a while, your urethra will start to harden and feel like scab. It is ok, use oil, Vaseline or polyspoirn and it’ll continue healing. Dm me if you’d like to talk more

bro, same happened to me. the meatus dried out. and when i tried to pee, it did not come out for 3 seconds as the meatus wouldn't open due to dryness. After that 3 seconds however, pressure increased in urethra and the urine just shot out, along with some blood. This continued for my subsequent urinations that day. after which the bleeding stopped. Now am making sure the meatus is not dry when i pee. i am applying oil/water just before peeing.

how long after operation?

Are you still having difficulties?

I’m almost at 1 month now and that feeling and dryness are almost gone. But I’m still afraid to pee without checking and opening meatus by hand.

I had this problem too and worried about it big time, I contacted the surgeon right away and he had nothing to say, he said you are fine. crazy. anyways, many years later and still difficult to piss (not as in pissing but as in shaking/finishing) before used to shake and was done, now got to wait, squeeze a little or press from the gouch and then shake otherwise you will keep leaking piss if you do it too soon
