Rigid Cystoscopy procedure Without Being Assessed Before Procedure For Phimosis

This is quite a unique case so im not sure many can relate but will try my luck.

I had tight foreskin all my life but it never caused me any issues till about 38 years old. Had some burning during urination and ED issues after accidentally orgasming in a flacid state so decided to see a urologist.

She thought i had Prostatitis and penned me down for a rigid cystoscopy procedure. She never assessed me to see how severe my phimosis was, never was able to pull it back my entire life.

Since the op ive bad a dramatic reduction in the size of penis, barely any erections. I used to them frequently and get very hard. Now it’s limp to touch and tougher to get aroused. Ive come to the conclusion that the urologist made a big mistake not assessing me before the op and despite this she decided to go ahead with procedure where she pulled my skin back when under general anaesthetic to do the cystoscopy , this caused trauma to my penis as ive had bad symptoms since. She’s sort of ruined my life, do i have grounds for medical negligence ?

Did you have any of the other symptoms of Prostatitis? How are you doing on this symptoms now?

Were any meds prescribed for Prostatitis before or after the procedure?

How long has it been since the procedure? Was anything done by your doctor about the Phimosis condition?

Hi please take some tome and read my major concerns under moon007 following two procedures, have been through, 15 months later I have not recovered, completely & totally grounded. Never complained any issue with tight foreskin, but was frightened will develop cancer. All the results were negative.

Once she realised you did not have a normal foreskin which just goes back easily and then decided she would force it back to perform the procedure, I would say you definitely have grounds to sue her, she should obviously have realised what damage she would do by forcing back a foreskin that would not go back, especially as it seems you had already mentioned to her you had phimosis, she is someone who is supposed to be a total expert in that area of the body, so would have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing that the main effect of phimosis is that you have a foreskin which you cannot pull back. The result that you have a dramatic reduction in penis size and no erections sounds absolutely horrific!, I hope things improve for you and thanks very much for sharing your experience, I will definitely never have a cytoscopy now thanks to your warning 😀.

This is yet another post on the same topic. Nobody on this forum can advise you that you have suffered from medical negligence. Have you consulted with a different consultant who has told you this? That would be a sensible way forward.
