White area on penis head. They are not patches or lesions and is as smooth as the rest of the penis head.

Hi,

I've had this for 5 years with no symptoms at all. Just the change in colour. There are no lesions or patches and the white area is as smooth as the rest of the penis head. It is not an STD as I haven't had sex. I'm purely questioning for aesthetic reasons.

Does anyone know what it could be? Sometimes it doesn't look that noticeable but that depends on whether I have a lot of blood flow to my penis, for example, after a hot shower.

It is not balanitis or lichen sclerosus as these present with symptoms. I'm guessing it could be hypopigmentation so perhaps I just need a cream or gel to bring the normal colour back.

I too think it looks normal. Just be sure to wash under your foreskin everyday with warm water. Shower jet is great for that. And do the same after any sexual activity.

mine also has changed colour over time, some white areas and then different shades of pigment. Doctors over the years have told me it is normal.
