Dry or Wet Healing Post Circ

Hi,

I'm 8 days post op and I've lost a couple of stitches causing the incision to open up. This is likely to result in secondary intention healing which I know will prolong the overall healing.

Have people found it best to dress the opened incision for moist healing (which the medical research shows is more efficient for faster healing) or leave it without dressing (dry)?

I only ask because my GP said to not dress it, but this contradicts all the medical literature I have read on healing.

Any answers would be appreciated, cheers.

I was told leave it open. Once the bandage came off and mines been healing fine.

This is the best information that I’ve found, maybe you’ve already read it.

I am 2 months post op, everything healed great. I used bandages and vaseline for 5 weeks.

I was not given any ongoing treatment information. So once the full dressing fell off on day 2 I just used a dry dressing as a padding to keep it still.
