Advice proceeding with phimosis

I'm new here as I've been doing a bit of my own research but don't want to get mislead with the classic internet false information so thought I'd reach out.

I (Male, 22) have always had an issue with retracting my foreskin for as long as I can remember, barely being able to see any of the head of my penis, and definitely not being able to move it back onto the shaft at all. It's never been an issue necessarily other than with self esteem, and I believed it to be relatively common until today.

It has never been painful itself so I don't know if a GP visit would be needed, but lately I've had some pain under the foreskin half an inch or so down which causes some discomfort, and feels like a cut or as if something is stuck down there, which obviously is impossible to see or check seeing as though I can't retract my foreskin.

So my questions essentially are: do I need to seek an official diagnosis or any sort of help with the potential phimosis itself, and do I need to seek help specifically for this discomfort or should I just ride it out?

Thanks for any help.

I would make an appointment with your GP and get checked out. I had a similar problem for a number of years before doing anything about it. I had difficulty retracting my foreskin and was often uncomfortable after sex of any kind. Turned out I had phimosis and also skin bridges where the skin under the foreskin sticks to the head of the penis. There are quite a few options to try before getting to the stage of circumcision so I would definitely recommend seeing your doctor

Don’t do circumcision I regret it, I found about this later: store.novoglan.com/

The foreskin should retract back over the head of the penis easily! If it doesn't come back it's not functioning properly! I had similar issues and was circumcised to resolve the issue, I've had no problems since and it's clean and neat. I also couldn't wash that area properly beforehand . There are other options other than circumcision which you could try first! Best to make an appointment with your GP and get a professional opinion!

Are you able to retract it when flaccid?

No, it's equally as difficult either way and obviously I don't want to force it. It can get slightly further after sex or urination due to it being naturally lubricated but even then it's barely a couple of centimetres.

You really need to make arrangements to see a doctor in order to discuss the options. If you can’t retract when erect it’s time to make that call….

I had paraphimosis once. I went to an urgent care. I am not kidding, the whole office came in to take a look including the receptionist. They sent me to a urologist who finally pushed it back in. After that Mine was stuck so bad I could not see the head at all. I was cleaning by squirting antibacterial rinse into it. It got very dry and itchy and I constantly had UTI infections. I eventually got circumcised. Its the only option. Before that every time I had sex foreskin would rip further. It would smell. It was itchy and painful. It cost me several thousands but it was with it. Women prefer it. It looks bigger.

That’s ridiculous the receptionist had a look. I hope you complained.
