3/4 days Post OP. Circumcision

Hi, I’m 3 days post op (surgery Tuesday and now it’s Friday). I took my bandages off yesterday and it hurt sooo bad because I had soo much dried up blood. And I kept getting erect which made things worse. It’s completely off now but I’ve noticed some swelling under my head( above the incisions but under the head.) and I’m wondering if that’s normal? I’ve been putting on underwear in hopes that sensitivity begins to calm. I’m aware this is a very long and enduring process. I’m just nervous. I had phimosis so my head is VERY sensitive.

Swelling is frequent sequela of any surgery.

Early days. Area under penis is most sensitive so it's likely to swell, particularly if the frenulum was also removed. Don't rush to wear underwear unless you have to. For me Day 3/4 was the worst. Have a short warm bath if you can to clean things up. If you can't, have a shower but don't let the shower hit your glans directly. I cleaned up with a makeup removal pad dipped in warm salt water. Expect your glans to scab over with a wet white/yellow scab for a couple of days. Everyone heals at different rates but for me the swelling started really reducing from around day 5. I'm on day 15 now and I've blogged my recovery at circ.blog

Thank you! It’s just all new to me. It feels weird and I can feel my stitches. It’s annoying. I wear underwear when I have to and it like stings? Itches? It’s uncomfortable. I haven’t been able to wet it completely. I’ve been pretty scared to because I recently took the gauze and mesh thing off yesterday. It was quite literally stuck. Very painful and took me a while. I had to keep wetting my gauze and waited for them to unstick. I’ve been comando pretty much all day, no underwear or shorts or pants. Just free and it feels weird when I get in a certain angle. Hoping it goes away soon.

It will. Everyone heals at a different rate, you don't need to rush it. I was itchy for about 3 days as the glans dried out, and the stitches can itch too, particularly around the frenulum area. If the itch gets too much do a very light smear of vaseline (clean your hands, warm it so it's not too sticky) and rub it on. If you're like me you're probably at the stage where you don't even want to touch your dick (probably the first time since puberty lol 😀), don't worry, it will pass.

It’s going to feel uncomfortable and very sensitive while it heals up,as to the itching that’s a good thing as it means things are healing,if it’s very bad you can do what my doctor suggested for me,take an antihistamine tablet and/or an antiseptic cream with a mild anesthetic in it.As to the sensitivity if it’s really bad wrap the glans with a gauze and Vaseline, keep the penis up towards your stomach if you’re walking about and wear tight boxers to support it.it will get better mate, just takes time

It is pretty normal. But it is inadvisable to wear underwear so early in recovery. I had zsr circumcision. The early days will certainly be painful due to morning wood and however hard you try to keep Erection down. Also, please eat Vitamin C rich food that would aid in healing. Dont be hard on yourself and give it sometime to heal. My recovery was totally complete within a month. I started wearing underwear only after 3 weeks. The pins came off completely on 11th day.

so do not worry much and give it time to heal. You can use local anesthetic gel to minimize irritation.
