Cleaning smegma

I was circumcised 2 weeks ago and now I’m feeling pretty good. Only thing is I’ve got a yellow goopy like stuff on the underside on my head. A doctor told me it was smegma. I’m not sure how to get rid tho and my next appointment is in a month. Any ideas ?

Even i have the same.. It has been 2 weeks since circumcision..

What sort of post-op care did your surgeon/doctor advise you to do?

I was advised salt baths for my dick and that helped me deal with some of the yellow stuff that crusted around the incision very early on.

Smegma is soft whitish (cheesy) substance secreted by the the inside skin (of the foreskin). It’s usually washed off with warm water. People who are intact (not circumcised) should wash off the smegma any smelly build up every day while shower/bath and then pat the area dry with towel. People who don’t pull back their foreskin to wash-off the smegma usually are said to have poor hygiene and end up getting some health issues.

Circumcised guys don’t get any smegma build-up because the skin has been cut and the glans (head) is fully exposed. Over time as the exposed penis head dries up you don’t see or feel any smegma on a circumcised penis.

When you are freshly circumcised and your body is healing, the scar also secrets lymphatic fluids which are yellowish in color. This is normal and a sign that the body is healing.

So the yellow like stuff on the underside is normal ?

If you are properly circumcised and there is no loose skin bunching up below the glans then you shouldn’t be having any smegma. Even if the body releases some it should have rubbed off on your underwear since youe penis is exposed.

Is there loose skin still bunching up partially or fully covering the glans or the ridge of the glans?

Also how far is the circumcision scar from the yellowish accumulation?
