I had circumcision around 3.5 weeks ago and it's going to be 4 weeks this 23rd of June.
I just want to know if someone had experience of having sex with condom on while still having some sutures/stitches left to dissolve because as of now I am facing no pain during erection. I am planning to have sex after completion of 4 weeks of advised period. Also I would like to know how can I speed up the process of dissolving the sutures, will applying any ointment help in letting sutures dissolve fast as I can see the wound has completely healed but my surgeon has advised me to let the sutures get dissolved automatically instead of manual removal.
Any help would be great.

According to me if stitches are removed earlier then it may cause skin tunnels! So let them take its time to dissolve. Also the skin outside appears healed but the inner tissues may be healing and any high intensity movement may cause swelling. A 6 week period is safe window.
Also sutures may be pricky and can tear the condom! So proceed with caution as it may harm your partner as well!!
Hi,Thanks for giving your valuable reply. I would definitely wait for around 5 weeks and then take the call.
Also I am seeing a lot of people over this forum recommending coconut oil, is it safe to apply coconut oil and does it help in healing procedure or is it just placebo?
The remaining sutures have become soft now. Any idea how much time will it take for the sutures to dissolve?
Six weeks is recommended time. If stitches do not dissolve in advised time you could try soaking off in salt bath. I found using condom was fine, but a bit painful when removing.Good luck
So you are speaking from your experience of having sex while sutures were still present. Do they cause any kind of irritation or friction with condom as I haven't even tried masterbation because of the fear of doing any kind of damage or reversing the healing but I don't feel any pain during my night time erections unless or until I touch the site of sutures were I feel some slight impinging pain similar to ant bite. Would love to know from your experience.
Sorry, no. I waited the full six weeks before sex, so my stitches where gone by then. I took short shallow salt baths to help dissolve the stitches. My first sex after surgery was wearing a condom. Putting on was fine, sex was fine, well to be honest first sex was AMAZING ! But removing the condom afterwards was way painful. We never bothered again.
Was condom got stuck with then skin at the time of removal and why it was painful to removal, I just wanted to know the precautions you took at the time of your first sex so that I can learn and keep things in mind and regarding sutures, is there a fixed timeline on when they get dissolved as I can still see I have around 5-6 prominent sutures left and it's going to be 4 weeks since my surgery this coming 23rd of June. Is there a way to accelerate the suture dissolving process?
I was advised that if they hadn't dissolved in three weeks I could try soaking them off in warm salt bath or if I was concerned go to see Doc' or Nurse for removal. I soaked them away, just being careful to check nothing untoward was happening. I would think yours should have gone by now. I would suggest making appointment to have them checked, DO NOT try and unpick !
Because I was still hypersensitive I thought wearing a condom may help. It did during sex, but pulling it back over the head afterwards did cause considerable pain. I did not try again.
I still do have sutures and I am going to complete my 4 weeks post surgery day after tomorrow.
I will try to soak them in warm salt water before bath everyday and would refrain from any sexual activity until they dissolve as I think they might create issues due to friction during sex. Although I consulted my family doctor yesterday and he said sex with sutures if some with condom won't create any issues but I would still wait for next 2 weeks to see if they dissolve.
Also just curious to know whether you feel any kind of pain during sex when you had sex for first time after circumcision with condom and afterwards without condom as now I am a bit scared that I might reverse the healing period but also concerned about my relationship with my partner as sex is integral part for both of us.
Good advice to wait the extra two weeks.I had no pain during sex, just a little sensitive when first going 'in'.
I would advise plenty of lube the first few times but my Wife gets pretty wet anyway so not an issue now. Just take it easy, you will find it a different experience, but that first time is well worth waiting for.
