I had a freehand circumcision performed four days ago and have dissolvable stitches. The ends of my stitches keep getting stuck to my underwear and pulling at night. During the day I put gauze with Vaseline over the stitches and position my penis up right. I wanted to let the stitches air out and dry out at night but worried about them getting caught in my underwear. I also don’t want to keep the stitches covered all the time as I’m worried it will delay the healing process. I do epsom salt baths twice a day and also notice that the stitches get harder and as a result more likely to get caught in my underwear
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The salt baths that you should be using are sodium chloride baths. You should be using table salt or sea salt. These baths help to prevent infection. Epsom salt baths are fir muscular problems and are no use for post surgical use.
The problem is some clinics and hospitals in US still have old practices without any modern scientific information or evidence based data at least. Epsom salt is mentioned in couple of books at time of WWI. Newer information is needed, IMO.
Pro-circumcision netsite in UK still mention Epsom salt first on his/their leaflets. I have asked him/them to verify that information or remove ancient information, but nothing has happened since last year.
Thanks for the responses. I’m doing sea salt baths now for ten minutes. I emailed my doctor about keeping it wrapped with Vaseline or Aquaphor but still waiting to hear back. I used Aquaphor last night and it healed a scab really quickly.
