Skin covering glans when flacid
Hey me too! But for me I think because I’m a grower might be the reason. Because when I have my morning erections I noticed that it’s all fine. I’m about the 15 day mark. I was worried more that being covered might slow my healing. I’m being careful to try and get my head out as much as possible.
The purpose of medical male circumcision is to solve the problem. You had tight foreskin earlier? Tight ring might have been just on tip of your foreskin and now it is removed? Can you retract you remnant foreskin easily now?
Yes i had phimosis earlier.. hence the circumcision.. my skin doesn’t cover the glans completely but at times half and at times 3/4 th.. so just wondering
Adult circumcision is different than infant genital mutilation aka RIC in US or other regions. They can look more like skinned back when the scar line is on the middle of the shaft and glans is exposed all the time. Did you talk with your surgeon about the outcome you prefer?
I will discuss this on 17 th.. that’s when i meet my surgeon .. ty for your response👍🏻
Did you discuss style of cut with your doctor during the consultation before the procedure? Did you agree on a loose or tight cut?
If you are a 'grower' then a cut which is tight when fully erect will necessarily have significant looseness when you are flaccid. This may be enough to cover the glans rim when flaccid. A loose cut will almost certainly leave the possibility of riding onto the glans when flaccid.
You are only at the 3 week mark out of a normal healing period of 6-8 weeks, so you will have very considerable swelling for some while yet. This will bring swollen skin onto your glans. Once the swelling fully subsides, your glans should no longer be covered.
You can try gently pushing the excess skin back off the glans each time you shower/bath, or change the dressing. It probably won't stay back, but at least you can fully clean the penis, including in the sulcus behind the glans.
Yes, raise the matter when you see your surgeon on 17th if it is still a problem. The loose skin shouldn't ever cover more than just the glans rim - certainly not over 1/2 of the glans though!
Day 15 circumcised it’s going ok I guess it’s drying up pretty good when flaccid or erect I mean kind of erect cause it kinda hurt when I feel it coming up the gland is fully exposed frenulum area around stitched line is very sensitive I guess I gotta keep applying ointment there I just can’t wait to put it to used and see the difference if I’m gonna be the same size as before
I had mine done when I was 23 and I am 54 now and my skin still covers most of the glans. My urologist said this was the best of both worlds because I still have my sensitivity but when erect it retracts without manipulation. Loose cut he said is a lot better than a tight cut because when erect if it is a very tight cut it could be painful and I have been happy with the results for over 30 years.
I was circumcised at 18, had a revision at 36. I’m a major grower— about 3 inches soft and 6.5 hard. The surgeon who did my revision was excellent and said the skin would be tight when I was hard but he had to leave enough skin to allow for expansion, so there would wrinkled shaft skin and sometimes skin covering the head. I have several close friends and discussed “turtle dick”— seems like it’s very common with growers. Don’t worry about it.
Mine is like that also. I’m glad that they didn’t remove to much when I was circumcised. I enjoy sliding the skin up on the glans.
Hopefully soon. 😊
Mines the same, day 16, I think it’s to allow for expansion as mentioned.
