Is my frenulum healing normally?

So I followed advice that I should keep my wound moist to encourage faster and better healing however I regret that now as I feel that is the reason my frenulum is still oozing liquid. Surely most peoples frenulums are closed by week 3 so what is wrong with mine! Couldn’t be an infection as I have been on antibiotics week 1 and 3

I’m a very healthy person

Balanced diet

Exercise more than 5 hours a week

No medical conditions

I think we have chatted earlier. I remember you had a large blood clot on that area and you went to clinic where nurse or doctor changed your bandage first ten days or so. Modern wound care is not the case.

It looks like you have an open wound where the frenulum was before, just the blood clot has gone. You know it better if there were couple of stitches on that area. It will heal now by secondary intention and there will be no suture marks.

Your frenulum was not healed enough if there were stitches on it. We all heal at individual pace and balanced diet is just one part of healing process.

Daily wound care is enough: wash once a day > dry > spread petroleum jelly > cover with a gauze > repeat until the frenulum is healed.

"What Is Moist Wound Healing?

There are two main components to moist wound healing: 1) Do not use disinfectants over the wound and 2) Keep the wound moist. The first component, not using disinfectants, makes sense because disinfectants such as iodine, sodium hypochlorite and hydrogen peroxide are toxic to cells and should never be applied over a wound surface. We don't want to kill cells; we want to encourage them to live and proliferate."

PS. It doesn't look like infected to me. Don't hesitate to ask your local healthcare professionals if you have questions about your wound. Take care!

I understand it’s going to take longer but I’ve heard that the scar tissue which develops in that area causes pain in the long term is this true?

FYI all: Moist wound care will not dissolve stitches earlier than outdated dry wound method. Stitches need your lymphatic fluid to loosen.

In perfect world where the costs won't be the issue they would never use dissolvable stitches on adult penis, IMO. No one can tell you beforehand how your body reacts to dissolvable sutures. They may dissolve too early or late, but they save money cause the patient don't have to visit clinic second time to get stitches removed.
