Frenulum reconstruction

I had a circumcision 3 weeks ago. At the same time I had my frenulum reconstructed as it was tight. The surgeon reconstructed it but seems the stitches have gone and it's opened up a bit. Just wanting to know if this is common. I went to see the nurse and there's not much they can do right now but said its healing well. Just worried of scarring or have to have another op to sort it that will mean it won't be as sensitive as before.

I was trying to add a photo but it doesn't seem to allow me to. Anyone know how to add photos?

Hey ! You can't actually upload any pics any more. By the stitches have gone and it has opened up mean that the stitches fell off on their own or ruptured in the initial few days after post op. I would say 7-10 days after surgery the stitches don't actually have to be there anymore for good apposition and healing but if it had ruptured or torn before , you might need to visit your surgeon instead of nurses as they will be able to assess the situation. Also in my opinion , for scarring to occur there are most likely other factors involved like infections , improper surgical techniques etc. I would say that if you are worried get it seen by your doc other wise now worries. I had a reconstruction done to my frenulum as well during my circ and the area remained raw and tender for around 3 weeks or so. All the best !

UPDATE - saw my surgeon to make sure everything is healing well. So the wound has opened up, which is fine. The skin on either side will grow over but it'll take a bit longer. It's perfectly normal and I should still have feeling and sensation there. Feeling relieved.
