circumcision - where to start

Hi Gents,

Been having a read of this forum for couple of weeks, which is great but where do I start and what’s the options.

How long after speaking to your GP before you go for the op.

What’s the options, I’ve read about glue, and high and low cuts.

What’s the recovery period like, can you work straight away?

Appreciate it Varys by person and procedure but trying to get my head around this?

Also those post op, right decision or could you have lived with the right foreskin.

Thanks in advance.

I opted to have it done privately a couple of weeks after seeing my GP. I think if you go down the NHS route you probably get the type of circumcision they do at at that hospital which is probably freehand with sutures. In any event that was what I received with the surgeon deciding on where to cut. I think he made a reasonable decision. I had a week off work and the first few days was tough. I think if you want the more recent methods such as staples you’d have to go to one of the specialists. The thing that put me off those was they almost have a back alley feel about their locations. I’m happy with the result but be prepared to have to explain how it works to women as they probably won’t have seen one before yours.

If you can get glue I totally recommend you getting it. It’s great stuff the NHS don’t offer glues
