Please check the below picture, the left side wounds are fully healed and I don't have that extra reddish inflammatory skin on left may be the stitches were intact and it healed well but the left side is looking dangerous and red, the incision joints doesn't seem to meet.
I consulted the doctor who did circumcision and he referred me to dermatologist who have ointment (cefudic acid cream and cefixime 200mg tab)
Is this normal? And will it heal or do I have to go for another surgery?
Yes there seems to be somewhat an irregular margin and since you are being treated by a dermatologist as well it's best to keep in contact with both your surgeon and dermatologist . Probably you need to wait out till it heals which it will and you would not need another surgery in my opinion although you have to have a talk regarding scar formation with your dermatologist for sure ! All the best !
Yes, the incision is separated which now has left the extra skin on the left hand side. How will this heal? With both the edges meet again or will the skin be left permanently?
I can't definitely tell how this will turn out but it will heal . Do try to get rid of the infection as it might delay healing . I am not sure Abt the edges though and it would be best to discuss this with the doctor who performed the circ and the dermatologist ! Cheers !
The circ surgeon is avoiding me and says he is not in the town for couple of months which is bothering me a lot. At this point I don't think anyone can do anything till the wound is healed , the dermatologist says it will heal in 1 to 2 weeks with the antibiotics and I have to be patient.
The wound will definitely heal and will be faster once the infection is down . But I feel the margins may be a problem and might not heal as a clean line and that is something you have to discuss with both the dermatologist and the surgeon. Maybe the Dermatologist can help somehow .
