2 days post circ, dressing not off. can only see a swollen frenulum.

hey everyone, had a circ 2 days ago for cosmetic purposes. stung a bit here and there because the anesthesia was not perfect but the doc showed me the final result with how much inner skin was left. he dressed it and asked me to keep the dressing for 3 days and not to wash for a further 2 days. I opted to keep my frenulum and that area seems quite swollen. is normal 2 days on to start swelling from day 1 itself?

(I was prescribed pain meds but I didn't feel I needed any so staying off. pain was negligible and no night erections thanks to peeing right before I sleep)

Yeap this is normal and you can expect everything to start coming down over a few weeks . It might swell a little more and after removing the bandages you can better track its size . If at any point the swelling/inflammation increases more than usual, becomes acutely painful , oozes pus you might want to check in with your doc.

oh thanks for the heads up. but I have no pain, no fever, that should mean things are generally safe right? I'm on 2 types of antibiotics for a week and that should take care of it anyways. based on what I saw it was a cut which was about 1 inch below the corona and ample outer skin was left to cause a slight wrinkle just below the head, yet leave the head open at all times.

what was your style and method used?

Yeap you should be alright . Mine is a low and tight cut so I don't have much foreskin and I am happy with it now = )

Did you have phimosis? Check my profile to see my problem. To prevent what is happening to me I suggest you taje the necessary medication. Further, the fren will take an eternity to heal. Pls keep us informed if you are unable to have a full hard erection is fhe coming days or months. Thanks

The poster said that this was a cosmetic surgery.

yeah man tell me about it. the either side of the frenulum was very much swollen right from the next morning. plus that area stung more while the stitches where done cos the anesthesia wore off. anyways now 0 pain unless the penis twirls in my boxers. sleeping with boxers seems to be a very comfortable solution.

I had a fully retractable foreskin and had 0 issues but considered the cut for cosmetic and cos the end kept getting fungal infections which were itchy and would pass on to my partners even as utis. also being south asian we have extra long foreskins which drop well over the tip.

what was your reason?

I had phimosis. Im almost at 8 months now post cut and all is wepl except i cant get a full on rick hard erection. I feel that my frenulum which was spared being cut is causing this given its snail pace healing time. Im considering removing my frenulum.

Swelling is to be expected from day 1. It will always be worst in the area of the frenulum and the former inner layer of foreskin. There will usually be some swelling for most of the 6-8 weeks healing time.

Pain medication that are anti inflammatory can be helpful whether you are feeling pain or not. They can help speed up getting rid of some inflammation.

but are anti inflammatory meds really helpful in bringing the swelling down in the immediate 3 to 4 weeks after circumcision? what methods would you suggest to make the swelling go away sooner? I have kept my boxers on hold it straight towards my navel which has made things very easy for me.

you mean yours used to look like a clitoris? you mean to say that the frenulum was so swollen that it looked like a clit? is my understanding correct?

Shaannsn,

It was Charles55 and not I who mentioned looking like a clitoris.

thanks everyone for the support. I am going to remove the dressing in arrox 24 hrs and looking forward to it. any mild niggle is easily overcome by adjusting my penis to an upright position. I slept with my boxers and was also prescribed some alprazolam for better muscle relaxation when I sleep. so far so good. will keep you posted.

I have been given a dose of alprazolam to rest better, yet I had one semi erection which stung, was awkward waking up with pain. but as soon as th erection subsides the pain disappears too. I am not trying anything at least until 4 weeks.
