Bio Oil

Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since my circumcision. When should I start applying bio oil? Do I apply it only where the stitches are/were? Do I apply it to the head? I just ordered it online and should arrive by Friday. Thank you for your help.

Hi bud, aslong as your wound had completely closed over, use it once in the morning once at night over the scar line and massage it in gently for the next few months. If you're looking a moisturiser for your glans (head) order some unrefined organic coconut oil, comes in a glass jar. It's great for the glans and penis skin in general I swear by it now, apply it once or twice a day around the other areas of your penis and it should aid your recovery. Thanks Bryce. That's quite helpful. I still have some stitches that haven't fallen. Shall I wait till then? I will get some unrefined organic coconut oil for the head of my penis. I am use to having it covered by the foreskin and therefore it is smooth and not dry. So, I would like to keep it smooth looking, I think!

It's probably not a good idea to apply bio oil or anything similar to the wound until that has completely sealed and the stitches are out - so not before 2 weeks and preferably not for 4 weeks from the circumcision. You don't want to delay healing.

Sutures have usually done their work by 10 days. Usually soluble sutures are used for circumcisions and the bits hanging out are just leftovers. Bio oil or coconut oil can be used as soon as all the new skin has formed. There is no hard and fast time for that.

I am on day 21 and still have a few stitches left but are about to dissolve.
