Reoccurrence of swelling after dorsal slit.

I had reoccurring balanoposthitis, so I got dorsal slit surgery done on 5th of feb.

Swelling took time to reduce and there was some infection on the head which is also almost gone now. But since last 3-4 days, I have noticed that the swelling has reoccurred at the foreskin at the frenulum area, and it itches like crazy specially in the night. And I’m unable to sleep. I try to apply coconut oil, xylocaine gel, but there’s only temporary relief and I end up getting up again in the night coz of the itch. There are still some stitches remaining. Can anyone suggest why this swelling has reoccured and what to do regarding the unbearable itch?

I’m able to retract and clean the whole head though which I couldn’t do earlier.

Yes.

Planning to go to doctor today. The swelling is increasing everyday. And there’s unbearable itch on that swelling especially in the night. I hope it gets better.

Yes definitely get checked. the dorsal slit and partial circumcision can cause quite a bit of swelling and even a circumcision with a High Cut can cause the inner foreskin to swell quite badly. Did they advise you to try and keep it in an upright position and to apply an ice pack for the first few days. It should improve but will take time.

He didn’t advise to use ice pack, but keeping it upright was advised during initial days of surgery, so I’ll probably follow that.

And he has given me some anti fungal medicine for infection and some medicine to help in reduce the swelling.

He has advised not to use any soap to clean it, just use water with lil betadine.

That's good man you have see your doctor I would follow there advice I will definitely not wash with any soap keep an eye on things and if there's any change or concerns go back to your doctor.

Yes for swelling In my own opinion I think the low- cut has a less chance of long-term swelling of the inner foreskin
