Stitches doesn’t seem to go anywhere soon

Have been 4 weeks since circumcision and many stitches still haven’t gone. What should I do?

I would suggest going to a doctor and get them taken out.

Hi, friend look at my post history i asked the same question a few days ago and got a few replies. All i can say is its been 3 and a half weeks since my op and still all my stitches are in.

Mine doctor said that it could take up to five weeks for them to fall off.i have plenty of them im on week 4 now gonna waot till the end of week 5 and call him again if they dont dissolve

My doc gave me a scalpel and tweezers and said take them out after between 10 and 12 days to avoid scarring. He said they were loose stitches for this reason too. Assuming all is going well, after this time the skin is fused enough to hold together without stitches if you treat your penis gently, but not strongly enough for masturbation/sex until 4 to 6 weeks hence the different advice from different docs.
