Have you done "salt bath" twice a day for your penis? It will help loosening clots. The wound will heal under the clot, but slowly. We all are different. The tightness of the circumcisions are different. Your own enzymes will absorb the sutures, but normally they are done their work within first two weeks.
Is there any pain or marks of infection? Are those clots the same all the time or is there new discharge from the wound area?
Modern healthcare praise the moist wound care. Easiest way is to put petroleum jelly/vaseline on the wound and use some dressings on it.
No im not feeling any pain... And the clots are just the same im also haven't seen any discharges...mostly i think the wound is covered up its just that i thought the sutures would dissolve before the actual 6 weeks healing period
It is likely that you only have the external parts of the sutures left. Usually the knots just drop off but they may need some help. Ring up your doctor and arrange for their removal.
Thank you very much
Sorry to disagree, I don’t think that’s good advice. My sutures took five weeks to drop off and poster has waited four so far. Give it another week, count them again and then decide would be my advice.
Not a problem. You are disagreeing from your experience. This is the NHS guidance: nhs.uk/common-health-questi...
If the OP wants rid of the knots then a doctor and nurse can remove them.
Yeah, mine was NHS and their estimate then was about that - far too optimistic, it’s about time they researched how long it really takes and update their info.
Perhaps you had a particular healing problem. Generally, sutures will have done their job of uniting a wound by 2 weeks with some body sites taking less time. In opérations that I have had, including an open partial nephrectomy and neurosurgery, sutures had done their work by 10 days.
Isn’t there a difference between doing their job, i.e. staying as stitches long enough for wound to close, and actually being absorbed though? A number of guys have reported their stitches have taken a similar length of time to drop.
The external ends will never get absorbed. The enzymes that absorb sutures are within the body. After about 2 weeks, generally, the external bits of absorbable sutures can be removed or the whole of non-absorbable sutures.
