Thank you for posting this Jim. I am the chief officer of 15 Square, the charity helping men to avoid circumcision and we have been bombarded with enquiries following the BBC story about Alex Hardy. As you say, it is a very complicated issue. Most circumcisions can be avoided. Even if surgery is needed there are procedures that preserve the foreskin such as preputioplasty. It is sad to see comments on this site sometimes from people who say ignore the pro foreskin brigade. The foreskin is essential tissue and not something to lose without reason.
You have said you are trying to help men avoid having circumcisions but are there any groups or forums that you know of that are specifically designed for those struggling post op?
Yes, we are going to organise a series of support meetings for circumcised men. These will probably be held in Stafford. Details will be on our website 15square.org.uk
