Thank you for this Jim, I appeared in this programme. The BBC team were very supportive. Ashley raised the issues that many men face following a circumcision and our charity is training counsellors to help men in this situation.

Hi mate, think I have a phimotic ring which is causing the right forskin.. I can retract fully when flaccid with complete ease but when erect it goes about half way... I really don’t want a circumcision and have been trying to stretch. But I spoke to a urologist from the states online and he suggested I get a dorsal incision! Do you know anything about that procedure?

You should be able to solve your problem easily with a combination of stretching with a steroid cream. There are stretching devices you can use such as phimocure. You may want to contact the doctors at 15Square You can do this through their website 15square.org.uk They wil advise you on your options. Dorsal incisions can be a bit drastic, a surgical option is a preputioplasty. This widens the opening without amputating the skin. Hope this helps.

Procedure called dorsal slit or preputioplasty for tight foreskin. Advantage is to keep your foreskin without circumcision, However it works only 70-80% cases.

Is there much scarring or deformity after procedure? Thanks

Scarring is not much problem but there is deformity like fish mouth foreskin shaped.
