Hi, just a quick question. Does anyone know, or has asked their gp if we are still covered against measles if inoculated in the past, despite being on immunosuppressives and steroids?? Thanks x

Hi if you have been inoculated for measles you will not get measles but it can present itself as shingles which can be very painful.

I got shingles in my left eye, which I found out later could have scared my cornea but fortunately it didn't. I couldn't see properly for about 3 months and was very sensitive to light had to drive with a baseball cap for about a year, and if I get stressed my eye starts it itch even now 3-4 years later

I believe you can get an inoculation for shingles, but you will probably have to go private and I do not know how much it costs. But based on my experience its worth it. Only found out myself recently and you have reminded me to enquire further.

Thanks xx
