High liver function tests means inflammation of the liver and it may mean that the liver doesn't cope as well as it should. There are many causes for that and if prolonged, it leads to scarring of the liver (cirrhosis). But with lupus sufferers lupus medication is often to blame for high results, so your rheumatologist might adjust the dose to avoid it. Don't panic just yet, speak to your gastroenterologist or rheumatologist about your concerns and see what they suggest. You might find that the tests go up and down with lupus.

Just as well l am unable to work anymore, as would not be able to make all my hospital appointments, keeping positive and more determined each day with all the help, advice and tips passed on. I've had the same problem a couple of times but after retesting a few weeks later it went back to normal so as purpletop said I wouldn't worry too much as many factors can affect the test.
