At the moment am being woken up in the middle of the night in agony - feels like my feet are in a vice and being squeezed till I can't bear the pain anymore.

Anyone else get this? Any advice on what helps??????

This doesn't sound very nice at all. I sometimes get sensations in my feet that keep me awake but don't sound as painful as this! Are you on any painkillers already? I take tramadol to help me to sleep but think you'd be best off asking you're doctor. Not the best things to try and get off in the end! Hope you find something that works for you :) x

Hi there - am just on brufen at the moment - was taking amitryptilline but made fatigue/dry mouth worse.

As you say am reluctant to take strong painkillers as then it's so difficult to get up and going in the mornings.

Can't bear this for much longer though!!!!!!

You must get to the Doctors about this.

Stand up with no shoes on look at your toes,do any toes make a V.if so your doctor will make an appointment with the foot doctor,he may do this anyway to find out why you are having this pain.

Why i asked if you have a V its called something and i have forgotten what it is.

I have it why the toes are in a V there is a small round swelling between these toes and they are so painful. If i remember what its called i will get back to you.

But in any case Get to the Doctors

Hi I used to get severe painful cramps starting from my toes, spreading up my legs is this what you get? The only thing that helped a little was if somebody massaged them they used to wake me up in the night too, I never got them at any other time.

You may have plantia facilitis or morton nuromeas .. I would check with a chiropractor.

I was interested in reading you had to say.

I have recently had problems with pains in both legs and hips at the moment the pain is not severe but sufficient to disturb my sleep.

My GP is sending me for an x ray as he thinks I might be suffering from spinal stenosis which can come with age!!

With regard to cramps in the legs, my dad had problems in later life with severe cramps and was put on qiuinine tablets so maybe a sip of tonic water would help but read the label as not all tonic waters have quinine in them. I suppose a little drop of gin might help it go down?!

I will keep you posted as to the result of my investigations which may or may not be of any help to you.

Meanwhile get some medical advice.

Thanks for all your advice.

I have been to the Consultant who is sending me for x-rays and may start on different medication.
