Why am I so tired all the time.have been power napping for a while now 5/10 mins usually does the trick maybe1_5(at most)times a day.
Thank you, i am going to try that it seems I sleep day/night , in fact if is wasn't for my family and a few friends I wouldn't even bother to get up, hibernating for the winter
Oh yes sorry Amitplyine does cause tiredness, perhaps your gp could suggest something else
I started on Amitriptylene and felt too dozy to drive but too alert to sleep. It took a while but did seem to work after a couple of weeks. I would recommend gentle exercise though
I agree Jacqueline too sleepy during day and wide awake bedtime, but I was like that b4 amitrip and used to fight it think in I would sleep better at night but it didn't work in fact it was worse.going to try having just 1 nap early 2 day.I am also going to start exercising as put on weight(stopped smoking).not sure what to do as my left arm is really bad.x
I go thru periods of this, it's quite common with lupus & I don't take amytrip so couldn't comment on whether or not that would make it worse. Exercise wise, I think the easiest on u're body & most benefical is swimming, u could always swim on u're back & not use u're arms ;0)
I'm used to it but a power nap did work for me but now I'm sleeping for at an hour each time and still can't shake off tiredness. Try for reply I think swimming would be great just think it a bit cold outside at the moment and I would have to walk.deffo going when weather picks up.doing early spring clean then a walk x
Hi letslaugh
I have been on amitriptylene for over 12 months now. I take it roughly 3hrs before my usual bedtime to help me be pain free during the night. For the first 4-6 weeks I did suffer from drowsyness every morning until about midday, as well as incredibly dry mouth, but these symptoms did disappear and I now find the 'cost' of getting up a bit earlier to 'come round' worth the 'benefit' of a sound(ish) nights sleep!
