Does anyone find that joint pains etc from lupus seem worse after a course of antibiotics ?

Crikey, a light bulb has just come on in my head. I finished antibiotics 2 weeks ago for an ear infection and yes I ache. I've never really had much joint pain with my Lupus but the last few days I've noticed my kness and shoulder joints ache as do the muscles attached to them. Could it be the anti-biotics? I also have a stinking head and chest cold at the moment and have pretty much ground to a holt. I thought it was just the change in temperature, but I'll ask my consultant in a few weeks if the anti-biotics might be the cause of my new pains. Cheers, always happy to find a new trigger!!

Acorn 1,yes I do and infact over the years I have come to reaealize that I react so badly to metronidazole,lots of headches and stomach ache

Yes I feel really awful when I have taken antibiotics and most times scared to take them.So you are not alone,just like you my joints ache a lot more or starts to ache.I hope you do feel better

Yes! I've just finished a course of anti-biotics and the pain has been immense! Reading your blog has put 2+2 together for me. I hope you feel better soon x
