That is horrid. I used to get a lot of that but since I have been on tablets from the doctor it has sorted it out. I take lansoprazole in the morning and ranitidine at night. I was diagnosed with acid reflux which is bad because it can damage the oesophagus.

The oesophagus is the tube that connects the stomach and mouth, so you feel the burning in your chest when the acid flows up. It is usually especially bad when you lie down at night. Some foods make it worse eg. acid fruit, chocolate, spicy foods etc. Also I was told not to eat anything two hours before going to bed. When you have food in your stomach it sets off the secretion of acid to digest the food.

It took me a while (with my GP) to get the correct dose to stop the acid reflux, so do persevere if its not sorted straight away.

Hope this helps.

Hi all, it is the tablets we are on, I have been suffering with acid reflux for a few weeks now, it has woken me up to the point I was being sick, I have a blister in my mouth now, guess what helped me? MILK, I swear by it, I drink milk before I go to bed and it is working, I will see my gp though but I don't want to take anymore pills. Try the milk. Warm at night with one sugar. Works wonders. X
