Whenever a medicine has occurred like that, and on multiple occasions, I tend to stay away from it. My body is just sensitive to the harshness of the chemicals and the side effects are much stronger than they are in other people. If you can find another preventative medicine, I would suggest talking to your doctor about it.

It can occassionally give me nausea and an upset stomach but I think the benefits of plaquenil outweigh the side effects. It has totally brought my Lupus symptoms under control over thelast 13 yrs. I know they are awful symptoms sometimes, but bear with it. :)

Please make sure you check with you GP/Rheumatologist before you take any advice on changing the time you take your medicines. Your GP/Rheumatologist will be able to ensure that a change wont have any negative effects or adverse reactions with other medicines you take.

Hi Paul, you are right and I would not change my med schedule without talking to my doc. I take twice a day as it is, am and pm.....I take with food, but still makes me sick. But....I am sticking with it!
