Decided to have some bloods done yesterday as I felt low & my hb levels are 6.2. They were 9 three weeks ago!!!

I've been booked in to have another transfusion x

Wow - that is low. No wonder you were feeling awful. Hope the transfusion makes you feel better. Take care.

Oh poor you ! You must be feeling dreadful. That is a very very low result , are you having any investigations as it sounds as if this has happened before?

Ive been in a similar position and been off work for 10 weeks with ongoing anaemia which has made me feel tired, depressed and unable to remember anything. Ive had investigations whilst ive been off sick and now going into hospital tomorrow for iv infusion of Ferrinject........i cant wait to feel better again!

Is this common with lupus?

I have regular bloods done, but don't know if I'm checked for this.

I feel dreadful all of the time, even when I'm not having a flare. So weak and feel faint constantly.

My pt/ inr fluxs all the time, I know when it's high I'm sluggish everything hurts as the blood is fighting to get thru. Since my docs want to keep it between 4/5 I've felt better . Spinich is good to bring it down . With many clots, on a new med called dyprithomole , stops the platelets from sticking. No transfusion was needed. Maybe this will help ?

I've been off work since June 21st due to feeling very low (depressed) having no energy etc, I thought I was ok to return to work a couple of weeks back. I managed 2 days doing 3hrs a day, felt so bad on the 3rd day I actually slept all day (missing my son's harvest assembly). Now been signed off till I've seen the Haematologist on the 13th November.

Since had a letter from the Consultant to say that they may need to look at my bone marrow again as all my blood cells are now starting to drop again.....

Frustrating! !!!!!!!!

Hi, I had the same in Jan and a low white blood count. This was before I was diagnosed with SLE. They said I was iron deficient and put me on supplements then in the May I had a FBC and my platelets were 4 and I was rushed into hospital. I wasn't given a transfusion as they wanted to investigate why this had happened. They put me on 50mg of prednislone a day and the platelets beganto go up they also did numerous blood tests including the ones for lupus which came back positive. The haematologist now tells me the lupus has being attacking my bone marrow and this i why all blood counts were low. 5 months on and I am on 5mg pred every other day and my bloods are all at normal levels there have been a few set backs whilst weaning off the steroids but on the whole fingers crossed I can come off completely next week! I am a bit tired but on the whole very positive. I hopethos has helped you, and I hope u can get bloods sorted I understand how very worrying it is! Take care x Rae Rae Willow

OMG What an awful time you've had, glad to here that things are looking up for u at long last. Has your bone marrow repaired itself? Will u come off the steroids? If so won't the lupus attack your bone marrow again?

Both my Rhuemy & Haematologist say it's the azathioprine that I was on that has caused all the damage, have been off this since the start of July. Been on Prednisone since then, but this hasn't improved anything.
