Welcome to the first stages of a diagnosis. This was my first diagnosis and i was put on hydroxy as well. I have now got a diagnosis of probable lupus. You may not get past this stage for a while but i just take it as if i have lupus which is essentially just all about management of symptoms. Hope you start to feel better soon.

There are a lot of different connective tissue diseases.

Dr Graham Hughes in his book 'Lupus, The Facts' (available from LUPUS UK) says, 'this group of diseases resemble Lupus only in that they cause joint problems. While many patients may recall some of these diagnoses being considered early on in the course of their disease, they are usually easily separated, both on clinical grounds and by blood tests'.

I hope that you soon get a clear diagnosis either that you have a specific connective tissue disorder or Lupus. In the meantime I hope the treatment is helping you.
