Yes. Without a doubt the winter is far worse for me. I have had quite a good late spring and summer but know from the past 2 years that winter is the time of hospital admissions, fatigue and pain. I was only diagnosed last autumn but had coped with 2 previous winters filled with mysterious illness aches and pains.

This year am fully armed and informed and already doing everything positive to stay as well as possible and have as normal a life as I can !

Yes. I always hated the winter months with the short cold days, but now even more so as the pain and fatigue increase quite a bit. Even with the heating cranked up it still is not a good time.

Very depressing....

Yes definitely! Let's hope it's another reasonably mild one, like last Winter!

About now I begin to fear the winter. But a hot summer is not fun either, this cool summer has been pretty grim at times but it has spared a lot of us the problems asociated with too much sunshine.

Through the Spring Summer and Autumn I try to store up the precious moments of beauty and make a conscious to recall them in the darker days.

And yes the darkness of winter is opressive, I take it a day at a time and look forward to the weekends when I make the effort to get out with the dog for as long as I can. I choose places to walk with maximum light and I look for the beauty in all things,

I also try to plan having meals ready for when I return and obviously look for routes to match my fitness at any given time.

There is no such thing as bad weather - only bad clothing - As they say in Norway, ( it rhymes when they say it)

I have 3 pairs of wellise 2 pairs of work boots and a scandinavian snow suit.

And it is fair to say the the winter is not usually as bad or as long as I fear it will be.

I have always found the winter months to be very depressing. The short hours of day light put me in the most awful moods and when the cold gets into aching joints it does not make for happy times! Xxx

Me too!! The last few winters I started to wonder if I suffer from S.A.D.s but this year I'm on better antidepressants so I hope the winter won't seem so bad. I do seem to get more chest infections through the winter months and also the aches and pains feel worse - the sunshine seems to keep them at bay.

I think the NHS should provide all lupus patients with free holidays all winter, to sunny climates!! Well one can dream hey!!
