Low Thyroid Blood test??

Hi

Had numerous blood tests last week

Dr had said that it has come back with low thyroid and low white cells ???

Anyone understand this, I can't get an appointment for a couple of weeks and want to know more??

Hi Sue, do you have a results line at you GP surgery? if you do might be worth giving them a ring to see what the results were. Usually if the blood tests are showing something is not quite right, the doctor might like to see you or, the surgery might send a letter saying doc wants to see you. They also, might repeat the blood tests. If no joy, you might be able to get a call back from one of the GP's at your surgery. Failing that, explain to receptionist, might offer an em ergency appointment. hope this has helped. Good luck and take care.

Low thyroid will mean lack of energy, possibly weight gain, thinning hair, brittle nails and a whole host of other symptoms. Will probably prescribe thyroxine supplements. Bonus is they entitle you to free prescriptions - on anything (go figure!).

Not so clued up on effects of low white blood cells - but am sure others on here can help there.

Should have said the receptionist said to me low thyroid, turns out she was reading me the wrong test results (for someone else???)

My thyroid result turns out to be fine.. now just waiting the results of the ANA test .. thanks everyone for answering my post though
